Adobe has expanded its Firefly platform with the launch of an AI-powered video generator designed to support creative applications like Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Express, and Premiere Pro. This new tool aims to enhance creativity and streamline workflows for professionals by providing AI-assisted video generation.

One of the key features is the Generative Extend tool for Premiere Pro, currently available in beta. This tool allows users to extend video clips by up to two seconds and sound effects by up to ten seconds. The functionality is available at either 720p or 1080p at 24 FPS, bringing more flexibility to content creators.

In addition, Adobe is introducing two new tools, Text-to-Video and Image-to-Video, which are available in a limited public beta on the Firefly web app. Users interested in exploring these AI tools will need to join a waitlist, while Adobe offers free generations during this period. Pricing and availability details will be shared after the official launch.

This announcement closely follows Meta’s recent unveiling of Movie Gen, another AI-powered video tool capable of creating 16-second videos with synchronised AI-generated audio. Adobe’s Firefly expansion sets the stage for a competitive future in AI-powered creativity.
